Cynthia Chartier
Painter/sculptor based in Dallas, Texas
Cynthia creates mostly large scale paintings using rich vibrant color, found objects, sheet music, numbers, and elements of the printed word in literature using pieces of rare books mixed with imported fabrics from Africa. She is known for her experimentation with layers of color, glaze and texture creating a narrative visual that expresses emotion in her Dallas studio.
Her work combines her need to make art that is expressive with the use of vibrant color and visually arresting by taking contrast from black to white mixed with unusual one of a kind textures. The journey is in the process of finding the delicate balance between chaos and order.
Her paintings express the way reality and imagination collide. The intentionality behind her use of mixed media with hints of cubism reveals the illusion of time and space. Each painting answers a question using hidden messages. Get lost in the forgotten stories told with emotion and a new perspective.
Cynthia’s work is represented by Mirada Fine Art Gallery in Denver and La Petitte Gallery in Washington.

Silkroad Warrior is an abstract mixed media painting on linen. The size is 36×36. The heart and soul of this figurative painting is of a South African tribesman leader. The dominant color is blue to reflect compassion, gentle kindness, and an extraordinary sense of vision. The accent colors: green, yellow, purple and red are for balance. There are also hidden messages in the energy and heavy impasto texture.
